Working hard at being kittens
The kittens are two weeks old today! They’re moving much more. They’ve all doubled in weight since they were born, and some have almost tripled. They’re stronger, cuter – and driven to go places and try new things.
First play impulses
Sometimes I think this little one is stuck upside-down, but she (I think) seems to just like being on her back. She seems to love waving her arms around. This is the first kitten I’ve seen playing. Baby is such a good mom!

Do kittens dream when they sleep? I think so.
Keeping warm in a kitten pile
The instinct to keep together to stay warm is really strong. A lone kitten can’t generate enough heat to keep the body temperature high enough. The kitten pile is important to their survival. It’s a very squirmy kitten pile at times!
Getting stronger every day
The kittens are one week old today, and getting bigger and stronger every moment! They’re starting to get their back feet up and under themselves – at least sometimes. It’s hard work building muscles and growing! Baby is a good mom.
New mug shots
Today we have new mug shots of all the kittens! They are four days old today, and they have already grown quite a bit. Each one has gained at least 20 grams since the day they were born. That is a 20% gain. The biggest one, who started out the biggest and seems to be on track to hold that position, went from 115 grams to 170 in four days – a gain of about 60%!
